Third Sunday of Advent, 12/13
Dear Sisters and Brothers!
REJOICE! The Lord is close!
This is Gaudete Sunday! In latin it means joyful Sunday. What is the reason for this great joy? The arrival of our long expected Savior. As the prophet Isaiah say of Him: "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me; he has sent me to bring glad tidings to the poor, to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and release to the prisoners, to announce a year of favor from the LORD and a day of vindication by our God." Is 61:1-2
The Lord is coming to make justice to those unjustly treated. All of us who have been patient in our suffering are finally going to be liberated. This obviously includes social justice but not only. All forms of injustice are going to be corrected. Maybe you were not just with yourself because you were too lenient or hard. Or maybe you were not just with God. All of it brings great pain to our life and we have learnt to endure it with patience awaiting the One who will liberate us.
He will come to heal the broken hearted, to liberate so many that are captive. Today especially those who suffer addictions. To announce to all of us the favor of the Lord! This is the message of HOPE that brings great joy to our hearts even though He hasn't arrived yet. The Lord brings this GOOD NEWS, good tidings to the poor! Reminding us that He reigns and that His is the victory.
This happened 20 centuries ago but will happen in a definite way with the second coming of the Lord that we await in hope. Now it grows little by little as each one allows the Lord to reign in our hearts.
Have a blessed Sunday!
