Christ in The City

Homeless Outreach

We help parishioners to break barriers when it comes to taking your faith to the streets.

Every 1st & 3rd Fridays of the month we go out to the streets to encounter the homeless. Although we like to distribute small care packages for those in need, this is not our main goal. Rather, we are spending time with them in conversation, getting to know them, and loving them simply for who they are: beloved children of God—just like us.

CIC started in 2010 in Denver, Colorado, where it is now a full-time missionary program. It has since opened a chapter in Philadelphia as a weekly ministry. Check out this recent EWTN video!

We will meet at 6PM in the Newman Center every 1st & 3rd Friday of the month where we will have a brief training in the Newman Lounge for first timers before we head into Center City.

Volunteers are not required, but encouraged to sign up for the street walk:

“Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
