Twenty-seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time

Dear Friends,

Today's Gospel talks about the power of faith. Jesus uses the example of a mustard seed to express how even the smallest amount of faith can do amazing things - things that our human minds can't even fathom! What a powerful reminder that God is so much bigger than us! And how important the gift of faith really is. What an important prayer the apostles teach us today: "Increase our faith". With all the distractions and deceptions of today's world, having the eyes of faith is more important now than ever. Let us all echo the apostles in asking for an increase of faith!

St. Therese of Liseaux gave us the image of each person entering Heaven with a chalice - each a different size based on our faith. Those with deep chalices are able to receive more of what God wants to give us! Our time on this earth is an important time when we can ask for an increase in our ability to receive God and His love, and therefore enter Heaven with the greatest capacity to receive Him as possible.

St. Therese, pray for us!
