Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord, 1/3

Dear friends!

Happy Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord!! We are still in the Christmas season, the joy abounds and permeates our hearts. Is time to put our gaze on the three great adventurers, the famous Magi or wise men. Our God invites us to listen and see what they saw and heard that silent and luminous night. Just like you and me, they come from distant lands, we all have distant stories and paths, so unique and mysterious.  Just as you and me, they are seekers, they are restless, they want more. But, tell us Magi, “what sparked the fire of your journey?” And they will say: "A Star!!" These are wise astrologists, people with childlike hearts, with sense of wonder, star gazers, contemplatives of cosmic and human beauty. As you and me, they are innate philosophers, artists, playful and open souls.

But, what does that Star mean? The finding of something beautiful, attractive, surprising, different... something experienced as an intuition of the heart. The strike of Beauty is always an intuition of the heart, which is always traced back to the Lord, the Divine.

We need to obey the quest of Beauty... because the beauty of the heart leads to the truth, the noble, the pure, the heavenly. The Beauty of family love, the beauty of caring for the sick and lonely, of forgiveness, of Christmas carols, the beauty of a sunrise and sunset. The beauty of a baby being born and that of a serene and happy death. All of these beauties are a starting point, they are a spiritual spark. They all point to the Truth and Love made flesh in Bethlehem. Let us walk gazing heavenwards, walking and stargazing, so we can meet the Baby King on his Mother's arms.

God bless you!!
