Solemnity of All Saints, 11/1

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

Our Mother is calling her children to love God and each other.

I am so happy to share with you so many blessings!

What a grand celebration we have today! We celebrate our Mother. This is our annual celebration to give thanks to her. We also celebrate the huge gift of our redevelopment project, the biggest one since 1928. There are so many stories of sacrifice and gift to reach this point! Those who have worked on-site, those who have donated, those who have organized. So much! We honor and celebrate each one of them. Also, we celebrate all saints day. Maybe the biggest gift of them all! Today we celebrate all the saints that have silently gone to heaven. Not the famous ones like St. Agatha or St. James. These are our beloved ones that have reached heaven. Our destiny is heaven and it is such a big deal when only one soul goes to heaven! This is the triumph of our Lord and our blessed Mother. So, thank you, THANK YOU!

So as we celebrate today all saints, listen to the voice of your Mother calling you to be with a saint. She is only echoing the words of her Son: “Be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.” Mt 5:48. This is the dream of GOD. His will is your sanctification! Something that is sometimes so difficult to think about. What sort of saint will you be? Can you dream with God?

What is the way? Jesus today gives us the Path. It is Himself! But to understand this better He gives us the beatitudes in today’s Gospel. Jesus is the incarnation of all these beatitudes. His own life teaches us to live them. I hope you can take a moment to meditate on one of them and listen to the voice of God calling you to live it a bit more each day.

Have a blessed Sunday

Fr. Carlos, SCV
